The crash happened roughly half a mile from bob's bayou black marina, about 15 miles northwest of houma. the marina's owner, bobby breaux, said he had never seen a boating fatality near his business.. I don't know the details of this story, but one thing that seems obvious is somebody didn't know what they were doing with a rather expensive boat and ended up losing it in a very violent way..
I started fishing this lake in 1978, shortly after it opened, and when i moved to this area. at the time there were no houses on the lake. you could see deer drinking on the banks pretty often. fishing was fantastic! now there are very few parts of the lake without houses, boat docks, jet skies and. The accident happened around 11:00 am in the barge canal near the bayou black marina. for unknown reasons poche lost control of his boat, ran into the bank and then some trees and cypress knees. It is unknown what time the accident happened, but the time frame was between 10:40 and 11:20. the crash happened about a half a mile from bobs bayou black marina. the louisiana wildlife and fisheries is investigating the cause of the crash..
