While in former gdr most folding kayaks models, with just a very few exceptions, had pvc hulls since 50s, nearly all western german manufacturers used rubber hulls only. the use of pvc was rare on western german folding kayaks. hammer was maybe the only western german maker who offered pvc as an option those days..
